Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
US actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
