Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.
My son advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
