However the latest Battlefield is hoping to change that.

It's the latest entry in a long-running warfare game line commonly positioned as a more realistic alternative to Call of Duty.

The title has not quite succeeded to rival its top rival in aspects of sales or user base, but there are signs the recent entry could reduce the distance.

A trial weekend allowing users a shot to experience the release in recent months broke records, and the buzz heading into its debut has been immense.

"We probably would not be able to build and design Battlefield 6 absent the insights we gained in the previous title," she tells us.

Among those lessons was to engage the community involved early, and the studio started invite-only player playtests earlier this year.

Their "response was explosively encouraging," states the manager.

Another missing component from Battlefield 2042 was a story mode, which has been restored this time around.

The UK studio creative lead Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the person in charge of "making sure those missions are as entertaining and interesting as possible for the gamers."

Despite reports that the scope of the project had put a strain on the multiple studios partnering internationally to build the game, he is optimistic about the work.

"Partnering with different perspectives, varied heritages, it's a very interesting setting to be engaged with on a regular basis," he says.

"This entire strategy has been a fresh take but additionally truly exciting because we are partnering with team members from internationally."

Concerning the pressure on the developers, the director comments: "There is pressure but also it's exciting.

"This is a large project. It's probably the biggest that many of us have before worked on."

New Developer Contributes Fresh Perspective
